About the Opera Journal
The Opera Journal is the personal website and online journal of Jens Neuwerk, webdesigner based in Hamburg specialized in the creation of simple and lightweight websites.
In June 2003 The Opera Journal was launched and its name was inspired by my passion for the Opera internet browser. You will find Opera relates topics as well as some personal thoughts. The journal is driven by Movabletype, a simple, powerful and customizable publishing system. All markup was written with a simple text editor while the images where processed in Photoshop.
I like to keep things simple but visually attractive. I also have a great passion for creating websites. Fortunately more and more designers notice that webstandards and accessibility can easily go together with good design.
Is the Opera Journal an official Opera site?
No. The Opera Journal is apersonal website and not related to Opera Software ASA, Norway.
Why does the Opera Journal look so bad?
This is due to insufficient support of PNG transparency of your browser. An already long time missing feature of the Internet Explorer. There are many more reasons for giving the fastest browser on earth (aka Opera) a try. Many of them can be found in the articles section.
Why do you waste your time with the Opera Journal?
Well, there are already many journals out there but I wanted to find a way to contribute something to the Opera community.
